October 11 Tsum Tsum Update!!

TsumTsums are Everywhere!

Tsum Tsums are the newest Disney sensation to hit the shelves here in the US! These little stackable toys came all the way from Tokyo just for us to collect!
They were released in 58 stores in the US on July 1st of this year and were out for months before that in Tokyo. As of August 1st, they are also available at the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney Anaheim. Currently there are only a few released in the US but don't worry, there will be more to come!

Out in the US as of August 6th: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Bambi, Thumper, Miss Bunny, Jiminy Cricket, Figaro, Dumbo, Lady, Marie, Pooh Bear, Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore, and Stitch.

Available at Downtown Disney Anaheim: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald, Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Chip, Dale, Dumbo, Stitch, and Jiminy Cricket.
Small Tsums are 5.5 x 5.5 cm and $4.95 online and in Disney stores. $5.95 for 1or 3 for $15 at Downtown Disney.

Medium sizes available: Pooh, Stitch, Mickey, and Minnie
Mediums Tsums are 18 x 18 cm and $12.95 each

Large sizes available: Pooh, Mickey, and Minnie

Frozen Funkos

So the stock photos for the Frozen Funko Pops came out recently and here are my thoughts!

Anna

Ana - I've always thought it should be spelled Ana instead of Anna. I mean, when you abbreviate Anastasia, you don't change it to Anna right? So this was the first one that I saw and I thought it was the most adorable thing I've ever seen. I love the one highlight that they put in but I thought it was supposed to be white? Still very cute! 8/10 snowflakes!

Elsa

Elsa - She's holding a snowflake! Super cute! The big eyes make everybody look cute, I'm going to be using this word a lot today haha. This reminds me of the dragon girl from Game of Thrones (don't know her name, I don't watch.) I hope they put sparkles on her dress and make her hair more white than tan like on the box. 7/10 snowflakes.

Kristoff

Kristoff - Hmmm he's supposed to be more blonde. I like that they put him in this outfit. I don't really have an opinion on this. But I do wish that they had also made Hans. 5/10 snowflakes.

Olaf

Olaf - CREEPY! 3/10 snowflakes

Sven

Sven - Super cute! The snout especially! I hope it looks better in person! 7.5/10 snowflakes!

Doing Disney with a Significant Other

Now, I haven't had enough significant others to count on more than one hand, and I've only gone once with a bf, but I feel like I know Disney well enough to be able to write this.

Some things that are more fun to do with a significant other than by yourself or with friends:

• Mickey's Fun Wheel at DCA 
• Eating at Blue Bayou or Carthay Circle (or other nice restaurant at the parks)
• Any extreme ride where you get to hold his/her hand when you're "scared" (I.e. Haunted Mansion, California Screaming, Tower of Terror)
• Any dark ride or location where you can be close (dark rides are great, like Little Mermaid)
• Having someone to hold hands with.
• See also: pros to going with friends. A SO is basically a friend, right?

Bad things. 

• Nothing really that bad.

Doing Disney with Friends

[The original file where I wrote this post got corrupted and didn't save properly, I had to restart from memory. Might have left some of the good stuff out.]

A few months after I got my Annual Pass, I found out that my best friend has one too! We started going together very often. It ranged from going once a week to going once a month when we both started getting busy with school. Here are some pros and cons of going to Disney with friends. (Please keep in mind that this is my best friend, the experience might be different from going with a friend because the bond is much closer.)

Pros:

• Sharing a magical experience together
• Having someone to help finish a meal
• Getting to try more than one item on the menu
• Taking ride pictures are way more fun when you guys can collaborate on a theme
• Someone to take a picture of you doing something silly instead of having to take a selfie
• Someone to talk to in line (30min+ line, you need someone to talk to!)
• Not sitting next to a stranger while on the ride
• Having someone to drink with if you decide to take advantage of the alcoholic options at the parks. And having someone to drive you home as long as they don't drink

Cons:

• When you don't like the same type of rides, you end up not going on the ones you like unless your friend(s) wait for you.
• Going with odd numbers: You have to figure out how to split up and who you want to sit next to

Cancellations on The CW

I saw an article about cancelled shows on the CW network. Here are my thoughts.

Cancelled:

• The Tomorrow People - I like the show and I'm happy with how it ended. I'm not sure what else they can add to it for the next season
• Star Crossed - The season hasn't ended yet but I like the show. If the finale is good, I can deal with it ending. But if they give us a cliffhanger, I'll be pissed. Edit: Just watched the finale and it ends with them signalling the other Atrians out in space.....ugh
• The Carrie Diaries - I don't even remember what happened in the previous episode. I think she decided to stay with her dad or something or another. Whatever..

Renewed:

• Beauty and the Beast - I'd like to trade this show for Star-Crossed. I haven't watched this entire season!
• Hart of Dixie - I love Rachel Bilson. Happy the show is still going to be on
• The 100 - Interesting concept. It's based on a book right? Would definitely like to see the people come down on Earth and rebuild. Kinda like Wall-E 2
• Arrow - YES! That's all I'm gonna say. But I'm two episodes behind..
• The Vampire Diaries - I'm starting to think there's nothing else for them to do in terms of this show. Unless they bring on the Kitsunes
• The Originals - Same as above
• Supernatural - never watched it. idc
• Reign - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this show

• The Flash - Hell yeah! This better be about Barry!
• iZombie - WTF is this?

Doing Disney Solo

Going to Disneyland Solo

   I have had my Disney pass for almost a year and I have so many stories that I can tell. I will start with what it is like to go to the parks by myself and mention some of the pros and cons of it.

Things you can do if you go by yourself that you can't do with other people:

• You can take your time to look at everything and take pictures of things that you see
• You will notice more details about buildlings and you will discover new nooks and crannies of the parks
• You can go on rides that your friends are too scared to go on
• You can also go on single rider which is a million times faster than waiting in line with friends (although it gets lonely having no one to talk to)
• You can eat whatever you want and not have to worry about burdening other people with your specific wants and needs
• You can shop wherever you want
• You might meet random strangers or people who recognize you and get to hang out with them
• Being able to hang out at a charging station while you people watch (granted, my bf and I do that too while we eat or just sit)

   I guess the most important thing is that you can take things slow and steady and you can come and go as you please. I have gone so many times just by myself. I go into the park for a few hours, go on one or two rides that I like and just spend the rest of the time hanging out in an area I enjoy (mostly Mad T Party because of the music and the colors. There's also a charging station there!) I also have a lot of pictures of certain areas of the parks because of these solo trips. Sometimes I take a Canon camera with me and just go on one ride and take pictures of all the details that the imagineers put great detail to. Things that are less fun when you are by yourself:

• Being lonely
• Being bored
• Having no one to talk to while in line
• Not having anyone to show what you're seeing to. You'll just have to take pictures and remember to upload them
• No one will help you finish your food or split a meal with you. You will just have to get smaller portions or take it to go
• You feel like there's nothing left to do after awhile because all the other rides would be more fun with a friend 
• Can't drink because there is no one to drive you home at the end of the night if you decide to take advantage of all the alcoholic offerings in California Adventures

5 Easy Tips for Keeping Cool Without Running Up a Bill

Living in Southern California, we have already started experiencing summer weather while the rest of the US is still having rain or snow. Since it came up recently in some roommate discussions, I thought I'd give some easy tips (that I do) to combat this weather.

1. Wear Less
Yes, it is really that simple. Just put on less clothes. Girls: Tank top, sports bra, shorts, skirts. Guys: Go topless, tanktop, shorts, boxers. Or even less than that if your roommates/apartments/housemates permit. I've come into an air conditioned apartment where my roommates are all wearing sweaters. I asked them to turn it off. They said no =_=

2. Splash Water on Your Skin
Yes, this is also simple. I'm a little bit hydrophobic so I have to wipe it off right away, but just washing your face and splashing some water on your skill will quickly lower your skin temperature. When you feel like you're burning up, just wet your hands with water and rub on your arms, legs, neck, chest, any other exposed area. So easy right?
Also a possibility: Take cooler showers. Instead of a hot shower, just take a warm shower. (Probably not a cold shower, that can't be good for you)

3. Stay On the Lower Levels
For those of you who have more than one story in your residence, do your best to stay on the lower levels. As most of us should know, heat rises and therefore, your top floor (where most of the bedrooms are) will be way warmer than the bottom floors. Do your best to stay down there.

4. Go To a Store
This one is a little bit unconventional but it beats being stuck on the first floor of your house! You could go to a Starbucks and chill out or a mall, grocery store, anywhere with air conditioning that you don't have to pay out of pocket for. Just remember to park your car in a shaded area facing away from the sun.

5. Drive With the Windows Down
Sometimes, this won't work. When I get into my car that's been sitting outside all day, I will roll down all the windows and blast the air on the highest possible. Once my hands stop being burned by the steering wheel, I will turn off the air or to the lowest setting and keep the windows open while I drive. Sometimes all the way down, sometimes just a crack so the hot air doesn't come in.


Just thought of this one:
6. Get a Fan
I'm not sure how much these cost, but they're probably cheaper than running your air conditioning for a long time. It's a small standing fan, it'll oscillate the air in the space and cool things down (a little).
And if it doesn't work, you could always return it!



Why I hate AC:
1. I'm sensitive to the dust that comes out of it
2. I get cold easily and don't like the feel of that air on my skin
3. Unnecessary. How did people survive for hundreds of years without it? We can too. (Although they didn't have to worry about global warming back then lol)

March 31 - HIMYM 09.23, 09.24 Last Forever parts 1 and 2

Please note, I do not plan on going over the previous episodes that I have missed. After watching these two episodes, I don't think I can rewatch any of it without feeling sad. Maybe after I process it.

09.23 Last Forever part 1

Part 1

September 2005
The gang is meeting Robin. Lily tells the boys if any of them wants to hook up with her, they have to marry her

Present
Marshall: The son of a bitch did it.

Ted talks about his moving to Chicago the next day. "Onwards and upwards." As he looks around the room, he sees The Mother up on stage playing her bass and stops talking.


I can't do it...I don't want to watch this. I had to pause on her face and cry. Okay..letting myself watching now. TEARS ALREADY TWO MINUTES IN!!!

Barney says hi to her "hey bass player!"
Tells her that he went out and got the girl "check it"
Barney wants to "have you met Ted" with the bass player
But Ted says he has to leave now.

Ted: Robin, it's been a major pleasure
Both: Major pleasure
*they hug*
Lily can't do it, Ted hugs Marshall
E.T. good bye with Lily. No hug
He hugs Barney
Ted: We licked the Liberty Bell
Barney: We did?

Ted gives Barney a high five so good it will be enough for the rest of their lives. A high-infinity
They go to opposite sides and high five. (Both hurt their hands "worth it")

Ted at train station. Old lady asks him if the lady with the bass guitar is pretty. She then tells him to go back and meet her. And then tells Ted what if the universe sends a sign. Then she asks one last question "this girl with the bass guitar, is that her?"
Ted: Just be cool lady, daaamnnn

24 hours later
Marshall and Lily walk into the bar to see Ted there. They expected him to be gone
He tells them he's not moving to Chicago because he met a girl
Lily: Who is this girl?
Ted: The bass player from the wedding band
Ohhhh ahhhhh
He call and asks her for a date and walks off while still on the phone with her.
Marshall is complaining to Lily about how Ted always finds a girl and moves too fast.
Lily has this knowing look on her face the entire time. (Pause and cry some more)
Marshall: He's fallen in love too many times now
Lily: Not like this, this is different

Present time
Ted: If I ever get married, I'm keeping it simple

2015
Barney: A hot air balloon?
Ted: Yeah I'm getting married in a 17th century castle in France

The Mother walks in to tell Ted that they can't get married in September because "when I do get married, I kinda want to fit in my dress"
He hugs her
Robin: What's going on?
Barney: She's getting a boob job

May 2016
Lily and Marshall are visiting with Barney and Robin. Baby Penny in the nursery.
Marshall: Can't believe you let Ted hang his jousting lance from the Renaissance faire on their bedroom wall
The mother: Yeah, that's Ted's
Ted *smiles*

They ask about Robin and Barney's trip to Argentina
Barney talks about his blog as his "business"
(This might be the part where they got "that drunk")
Robin asks if he wants an exit, right now at the 3 year mark
Barney: Before I answer that question, can we get really drunk and have sex?


They got divorced.
(WHAAATT?!?)


Barney noticed that Lily is about to have baby #3
Lily: Promise me that no matter what, we'll always be there for the big moments

October 2016
Marshall and Lily are living in the apartment. They talk about how Marvin and Daisy are sharing a room and when the third one is born, they can put the crib in the shower.
Marshall: How do we say good bye to something..memories
Cockamouse!!
Marshall: We have to move!

Halloween and Farewell Apartment party on the roof
Marshall is Captain Ahab
Lily is White Whale
Barney is some rock star

The Mother is some old lady wearing an Al Gore sweater

Robin wants to leave because "the gang" is a couple about to have their 3rd baby, her ex husband hitting on younger women, and the guy she should have ended up with married to a beautiful woman who is the mother of his children.


09.24 Last Forever Part 2

2018 

Lily, Barney, and Ted are at the bar waiting for Marshall to show up. Barney is spazzing.
Barney: The earliest I'll let anyone go home is 2am
Lily: 10pm
Ted: 9:45
Barney: 3am

Marshall tells them he's in line to be a judge again.
Ted: 1:45am
Barney doesn't want him to go. He doesn't think he'll ever meet someone and be like "you're the love of my life, everything I have is yours"

2019
Ted and Mother with Marshall and Lily at robot fight
Marshall asks if they'll ever get married
Mother: Someone got "judgey"

Ted: This one wants to be in a French castle
Mother: This one will take a White Castle. But he insists on a "wow factor"
Ted: You're all the "wow factor" I need. *kiss*

Barney comes in. He tried a "perfect month" and made a new playbook
Barney: That last girl, number 31.
Mother: Oh that's a pretty name, is it French?
Barney: She's pregnant
.......
Barney: My life is over
Mother: So where are you guys registered?

2020

Ted takes Penny to see GNB building
Robin shows up

He tells Lily and Marshall: And that was it
They're mad and compare it to a Sasquatch sighting
It's the birth of her ex husband's love child

It's a girl. "This is Ellie"
Barney falls in love with her. "You are the love of my life. Everything I have and everything I am is yours. Forever"

Ted walks into his living room and reproposes to the Mother.
Ted: Will you
Mother: Yes
Ted: Will you
Mother: Yes
Ted: W-
Mother: Yes
Ted: Will you marry me on Thursday? I called your office and you have nothing going on. Will you marry me on Thursday??
Mother: Yes. Aww same ring

Thursday
Lily: I can't believe it, it's Ted Mosby's wedding day!
Ted: Yes! After 7 years and 2 kids. Guys am I rushing into this?

Barney tells two young ladies to go home and put on decent clothes and call their parents.
Lily: Now I've seen everything
Marshall: Not everything
*Robin walks in*
Lily cried
Barney: Daddy's Home
Marshall. Judge Fudge? Running for state supreme court. You'll be calling me Fudge Supreme
Ted: you rsvp-ed no.
Robin: I did, but someone pretty persuasive talked me into it
Mother walks in.
She wants to get a picture of the gang all together.

Ted tells his kids that if he hadn't gone down that "long and difficult road" to get where he is now, he wouldn't be the same person. That the moment he met ther mom, he knew he was going to love her as much as he can for as long as he can.
<Montage of their life together>
That he carried the lesson (of loving her) all through their lives together. Even when she got sick. "What could be called the worst of times."

Present
(Thanking God, the universe, and anyone and anything else out there) "When I saw that beautiful girl on that train platform and that I had the guts to stand up and walk over to her and tap her on the shoulder and open my mouth."
Ted: Excuse me, hi I'm
Mother: The best man
Ted: You're Cindy's ex roommates
Mother: You're the professor. I took one of your classes. Econ 305

He tells her that she stole his yellow umbrella b/c he left it in Cindy's room. She says she bought it. He says his initials "TM, Ted Mosby."
Mother: Look again Ted Mosby, those are my initials. TM, Tracy McConnell

She tells him she went a dance club on St Patricks day. And left it. And never thought she'd see it again.

They talk in the rain under the umbrella



(Get ready, this is the beginning of the end)


Flashforward to old Ted sitting in front of his children. "And that kids, is how I met your mother."
Penny: That's it
Ted: That's it
Penny: No, that is not the reason you made us listen to this.
Ted: Oh really? Then what is it?
Penny: Let's look at the facts again. You made us sit down and listen to this story about how you met mom. Yet mom is hardly in the story. No, this is a story about how you're totally in love with Aunt Robin. And you're thinking about asking her out and you want to know if we're okay with it.
Ted: I can't believe this. I kep this story short and to the point and you guys completely missed it. The point of the story is that-
Penny: Is that you totally totally totally have the hots for Aunt Robin
Ted: No I don't
Penny: Yes you do
Ted: You're Grounded
Luke: Wow you're really into Aunt Robin
Ted: You're grounded too. Okay. Suppose I were interested in Aunt Robin in that way. It's not like I'd do anything about it. I got you guys to worry about.
Penny: Dad, we love Aunt Robin
Luke: Whenever she comes over for dinner, you guys are so obvoius
Penny: Come on dad, mom has been going for six years now. It's time.
Ted: What?  ijust call her up on the phone and ask her out on a date?
Kids: YES
Ted: And that's womething you guys want?
Kids: YES
*Calls*
He hangs up, says "four"

We see Robin at her apartment, she has four dogs. The door rings and she goes to the window to see hwo is outside.

2014.03.20 Disney Visit: Tradition

I have a tradition of going to Disneyland the day after my last final is over. This time, it fell on a Thursday. So I make my way over to Disney by myself. I have taken pictures to create a narrative of my day. I just went on two rides. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Grizzly's River Rapids. Spent rest of the day drying off and just looking around. So enjoy the pictures and my short narrations.

Of course when you arrive, you have to line up to go to the tram. I parked on the Goofy level.

After you get off the tram, you have to line up to get your bags checked. Of course..
Here's the list of rides they are currently working on. I was disappointed, I was hoping to go on Small World and Indy.

I'm bored in line by myself so I look at the details of the queue line. I noticed these leather ties they use. They are soft to the touch. I wonder if it's the same as the leather bracelets that we can buy

So I make my way over to California Adventures to hang out for a few hours. I go on Grizzly three times and then spend the rest of the afternoon drying off

It was a short visit. Walked around DTD a little bit afterwards. Got a few vinyls that I wasn't too happy with. Left to go to Brea Mall to eat some fries at the Potato Corner
