Hey all! I have decided to move all my tv show and movie reviews over to a new blog. That way it won't get cluttered with my Vinlymation and other Disney things. Doing Disney with a Significant Other

Now, I haven't had enough significant others to count on more than one hand, and I've only gone once with a bf, but I feel like I know Disney well enough to be able to write this.

Some things that are more fun to do with a significant other than by yourself or with friends:

• Mickey's Fun Wheel at DCA 
• Eating at Blue Bayou or Carthay Circle (or other nice restaurant at the parks)
• Any extreme ride where you get to hold his/her hand when you're "scared" (I.e. Haunted Mansion, California Screaming, Tower of Terror)
• Any dark ride or location where you can be close (dark rides are great, like Little Mermaid)
• Having someone to hold hands with.

Bad things. 

• Nothing really that bad.

Doing Disney with Friends

[The original file where I wrote this post got corrupted and didn't save properly, I had to restart from memory. Might have left some of the good stuff out.]

A few months after I got my Annual Pass, I found out that my best friend has one too! We started going together very often. It ranged from going once a week to going once a month when we both started getting busy with school. Here are some pros and cons of going to Disney with friends. (Please keep in mind that this is my best friend, the experience might be different from going with a friend because the bond is much closer.)

Pros:

• Sharing a magical experience together
• Having someone to help finish a meal
• Getting to try more than one item on the menu
• Taking ride pictures are way more fun when you guys can collaborate on a theme
• Someone to take a picture of you doing something silly instead of having to take a selfie
• Someone to talk to in line (30min+ line, you need someone to talk to!)
• Not sitting next to a stranger while on the ride
• Having someone to drink with if you decide to take advantage of the alcoholic options at the parks. And having someone to drive you home as long as they don't drink

Cons:

• When you don't like the same type of rides, you end up not going on the ones you like unless your friend(s) wait for you.
• Going with odd numbers: You have to figure out how to split up and who you want to sit next to

Doing Disney Solo

Going to Disneyland Solo

   I have had my Disney pass for almost a year and I have so many stories that I can tell. I will start with what it is like to go to the parks by myself and mention some of the pros and cons of it.

Things you can do if you go by yourself that you can't do with other people:

• You can take your time to look at everything and take pictures of things that you see
• You will notice more details about buildlings and you will discover new nooks and crannies of the parks
• You can go on rides that your friends are too scared to go on
• You can also go on single rider which is a million times faster than waiting in line with friends (although it gets lonely having no one to talk to)
• You can eat whatever you want and not have to worry about burdening other people with your specific wants and needs
• You can shop wherever you want
• You might meet random strangers or people who recognize you and get to hang out with them
• Being able to hang out at a charging station while you people watch (granted, my bf and I do that too while we eat or just sit)

   I guess the most important thing is that you can take things slow and steady and you can come and go as you please. I have gone so many times just by myself. I go into the park for a few hours, go on one or two rides that I like and just spend the rest of the time hanging out in an area I enjoy (mostly Mad T Party because of the music and the colors. There's also a charging station there!) I also have a lot of pictures of certain areas of the parks because of these solo trips. Sometimes I take a Canon camera with me and just go on one ride and take pictures of all the details that the imagineers put great detail to. Things that are less fun when you are by yourself:

• Being lonely
• Being bored
• Having no one to talk to while in line
• Not having anyone to show what you're seeing to. You'll just have to take pictures and remember to upload them
• No one will help you finish your food or split a meal with you. You will just have to get smaller portions or take it to go
• You feel like there's nothing left to do after awhile because all the other rides would be more fun with a friend 
• Can't drink because there is no one to drive you home at the end of the night if you decide to take advantage of all the alcoholic offerings in California Adventures

5 Easy Tips for Keeping Cool Without Running Up a Bill

Living in Southern California, we have already started experiencing summer weather while the rest of the US is still having rain or snow. Since it came up recently in some roommate discussions, I thought I'd give some easy tips (that I do) to combat this weather.

1. Wear Less
Yes, it is really that simple. Just put on less clothes. Girls: Tank top, sports bra, shorts, skirts. Guys: Go topless, tanktop, shorts, boxers. Or even less than that if your roommates/apartments/housemates permit. I've come into an air conditioned apartment where my roommates are all wearing sweaters. I asked them to turn it off. They said no =_=

2. Splash Water on Your Skin
Yes, this is also simple. I'm a little bit hydrophobic so I have to wipe it off right away, but just washing your face and splashing some water on your skill will quickly lower your skin temperature. When you feel like you're burning up, just wet your hands with water and rub on your arms, legs, neck, chest, any other exposed area. So easy right?
Also a possibility: Take cooler showers. Instead of a hot shower, just take a warm shower. (Probably not a cold shower, that can't be good for you)

3. Stay On the Lower Levels
For those of you who have more than one story in your residence, do your best to stay on the lower levels. As most of us should know, heat rises and therefore, your top floor (where most of the bedrooms are) will be way warmer than the bottom floors. Do your best to stay down there.

4. Go To a Store
This one is a little bit unconventional but it beats being stuck on the first floor of your house! You could go to a Starbucks and chill out or a mall, grocery store, anywhere with air conditioning that you don't have to pay out of pocket for. Just remember to park your car in a shaded area facing away from the sun.

5. Drive With the Windows Down
Sometimes, this won't work. When I get into my car that's been sitting outside all day, I will roll down all the windows and blast the air on the highest possible. Once my hands stop being burned by the steering wheel, I will turn off the air or to the lowest setting and keep the windows open while I drive. Sometimes all the way down, sometimes just a crack so the hot air doesn't come in.


Just thought of this one:
6. Get a Fan
I'm not sure how much these cost, but they're probably cheaper than running your air conditioning for a long time. It's a small standing fan, it'll oscillate the air in the space and cool things down (a little).
And if it doesn't work, you could always return it!



Why I hate AC:
1. I'm sensitive to the dust that comes out of it
2. I get cold easily and don't like the feel of that air on my skin
3. Unnecessary. How did people survive for hundreds of years without it? We can too. (Although they didn't have to worry about global warming back then lol)

     Hey everyone! Welcome back to #16 of my Vinylmation Reviews!! Since it's Labor Day weekend, my mom and I decided to go on a trip to some state parks. Now, it's a Chinese tour so I don't know how exciting it will be. But I won't be bringing my laptop (and I don't have any other cool electronics like a tablet) so I won't be able to type this up on the trip. Therefore, I am typing this up Saturday night (two days) before it is published. Here I am talking about Nerds Figment and Have a Laugh Turtle. Enjoy the video. Vinylmation Review Blog #14 - Sorry

     Sorry guys, please don't hate me, but the video today is no good. I don't have these vinyls on hand anymore because they've been traded away. But I will still give some information after this brief video:


    This post was originally going to show Humpty Dumpty from Nursery Rhymes and John Carter from the John Carter series. But I no longer have either of them. I got both on May 2, 2013 from a Disney Store.com order. I later traded away John Carter at a trade event and traded Humpty Dumpty into the blind box at D-Street in Downtown Disney. So unfortunate I don't have them to make this video with. :(
    I do have some other videos though! Here is the video that I recorded when I got the box from the order:



       And here is me stripping the paint off of John Carter! Hahaha:
